Mark Jarowenko, MD
Dr. Mark Jarowenko has lived in the Mid-Atlantic region for nearly his entire life. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors in two years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and attended medical school at Albany Medical College (Union University) in Albany, New York as part of the accelerated BS/MD six-year program.
He remained in Albany where he did his residency in general surgery and Urology, serving as Chief Resident in Urology in his final year. Following residency, Dr. Jarowenko completed a two-year fellowship in Renal Transplantation and Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
He then returned to Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor of Urology at Penn State’s Hershey Medical Center, where he helped evolve the urologic residency teaching program and performed the majority of the Urologic Oncology surgery. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Urology and ultimately received tenure. During this time, he authored multiple articles including 25 peer-reviewed articles and six book chapters. He presented at multiple national meetings including presentations of original clinical and laboratory research.
He joined Lancaster Urologic Group in 2000 as a full partner. Practice in Lancaster has been fulfilling. Dr. Jarowenko has enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the introduction of laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery in Lancaster focusing on renal, prostate, and adrenal surgery. He also enjoys practicing the entirety of general urology including kidney stone treatment, prostate enlargement, voiding dysfunction, and erectile dysfunction. He is committed to quality, state-of-the-art care.
Dr. Jarowenko is married with one son. In his spare time, he enjoys his family, reading, working out, yoga, and entrepreneurial pursuits with his wife.
